Admittedly it is hard to keep up with the changing scene in the world and in the USA, in particular.

The political arena is little more than a device whereby the mass of people within its borders are manipulated by the whims and philosophies that have been conceived by misfits - - and are now in political office.

 

The fights over the rights guaranteed by the Constitution are never ending and are being diminished as we speak.

Issues like, “The right to work,” which is little more than; whether the unions have the right to force workers to be dominated by union bosses or not.

The attempt to establish a union dictatorship within the democracy we live under, is well on its way to becoming a reality, and is strongly supported by the present administration.  Once established they will control every aspect of the lives of the citizens of America.

Then there is the rights of those who espouse the right not to work, and is always in the forefront. 

There is the belief that one should not have to work and contribute to the nation's welfare if one chooses not to. They seek to have cost free from prenatal care to their funeral, being absolutely without cost or labor to them. Included are the basics such as; housing, food, health care, and spending money for other necessities and entertainment.

The battle continues over the second amendment right to bear arms, and is misunderstood by the masses.

When reading after what the founding fathers said concerning it, you will understand it is a defense against the government taking over the lives of the citizens, and enslaving them much like what was happening in England to the citizenry even though they had the Magna Carta.

Germany became a dictatorship via the ballot box and proceeded in the disarming of the populace.

       
The power given to the German brown shirts and the blacks shirts, reminds one of the powers given to “The department of homeland security,” and “The patriotic act,” to wit;

The Right to a speedy and public trial: The government may jail Americans indefinitely without a trial.

Freedom from unreasonable searches: The government may search and seize Americans' papers and effects without probable cause to assist terror investigation (imaginary or real)

Freedom of association: To assist (in supposed) terror investigation, the government may monitor religious and political institutions without suspecting criminal activity. (This includes you and your church)

Rand Paul said, "Do we want a government that's looking at all our visa bills and seeing what our reading habits are?" Paul asked. "Do we really want an all-encompassing government that is looking at every record from top to the bottom and invading our privacy?"

Four members of the Supreme Court now view the Constitution as a series of recommendations. The so called "A living document" which simply means they decide what the laws should be and can ignore what the Constitution says. They put their word above the protections of it.

The appointment of one more liberal justice will totally annul the previous interpretations of the document and our lives will be changed forever.

All religions are now declared to be legally equal. That puts Jesus Christ along side L Ron Hubbard as being equal.

That shouldn't make Christians happy with the changing scene.

 

Whatever our view or persuasion the one thing we can all agree on is, "We did it to ourselves."

Time out for me to rant and muse a bit before the next fictional story begins!
