BARE BONES

Reconstruction courtesy photobucket.com

Facial reconstruction is a science that can help in identifying a deceased person.

Think Quest; "Once the skin and flesh has rotted away from the skull of a corpse, their character and physical appearance disappear along with it. It then becomes the job of forensic anthropologists, sculptors and creative artists, to reconstruct a life like form of what the person looked like from the skeleton".

When trying to understand what the author was trying to communicate when writing the word of GOD it is much like facial reconstruction.

People have a tendency (me too) to grab a verse and make a doctrine out of it when we are admonish to study to show ourselves approved.

Paul says in Act 20:27 For I shrank not from declaring unto you the whole counsel of God.

Understanding the whole counsel of GOD will keep you from error, and from getting unbalanced and going off on a tangent.

Different groups have their majors that they believe and promote while others criticize them for it.  From the same Bible we have snake handlers to same sex advocates belief systems.

We can't control what these large dominations have become but we can read, study and pray before accepting the philosophy they espouse. Much of it is little more than a political agenda. The politics of religion (this occurs at the higher echelons) not only is a disgrace but is also unspiritual.

We tend to associate with those we feel comfortable with and as long as they hold to the gospel of Christ as expounded upon by the apostles and not some personal revelation about a segment of scripture then there is a measure of safety in that relationship.

While the middle of the road thinking is often criticized in analogies but those who walk in the middle of the road seldom fall into the ditch. If you are not rooted and grounded and often refreshed by the word you are a possible candidate for deception.

2 Timothy 4:2 Preach (teach) the word of God. Be prepared, whether the time is favorable or not. Patiently correct, rebuke, and encourage your people with good teaching.

I would like to paraphrase that and say; teach yourself, correct, rebuke and encourage yourself with good teaching.

I don't advocate being "The Lone Ranger" but any of us can get slightly off track and those who are sound in the word like,

Priscilla and Aquila privately explained to Apollos a 'more accurate' Christian presentation.   Apollos was just a little off and needed a some fine tuning in his message.

Proverbs 27:17 As one piece of iron sharpens another, so friends keep each other sharpen.

Like Ezekiel's bones that came together so also God's truth will come together by reading and studying the Bible.
