President George Bush used to end his speeches by saying GOD bless America and it sounded better than what the sitting president does for he rarely says it at the end of his speech.

Perhaps we should make the case for why GOD should bless this country after all most believe HE should or is even obligated to do so. We were known prior to the sitting president as a Christian nation but he vetoed that as being unconstitutional so we can't claim GOD'S blessing based upon that fact.

Let's go to what is fact, our nation is filled with Christian churches and that should be the basis for blessing. Of course most of the larger denominations have come out of the closet and now have embraced, support and encourage homosexuality. Surely that deserves a blessing or two.

Then we consider the Ten Commandments the American people stringently keep - - especially not using GOD'S name in vain. We deserve a blessing now and then for being faithful concerning that.

We certainly could add a multitude of other reasons we deserve to be bless such as the ones quoted.

Then we have our official "Pooh pooh-ers" who have been approved to scoff and reject any suggestion that GOD might be judging this nation and is finding it wanting. The symptoms of this are there to see should one care to be enlightened by them.

It would be easy the put the blame on the pandering political leaders for they have their share of the blame but in the final analyses "We the people" are to blame for en-masse the nation has rejected GOD and his righteousness.

Without a direct revelation I wouldn't attribute to GOD what is called a natural disaster but there are things that are the result of greed and power seeking that have resulted in outsourcing of jobs which causes GOD to step aside and allow us to suffer the consequences of own making. An example of the is found in the link below;

Paul the apostle faced perilous times far worse than most of us will and his answer to things that were a cause for worry is found in Acts 20:24 But I do not account my life of any value nor as precious to myself, if only I may finish my course and the ministry that I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the gospel of the grace of God.

His focus was rightly placed.
