Genesis 25:31-34 And Jacob
said, Sell me this day thy birthright.
And Esau said, Behold, I am
at the point to die: and what profit shall this birthright do to me? And Jacob
said, Swear to me this day; and he swore unto him: and he sold his birthright
unto Jacob. Then Jacob gave Esau bread and pottage of lentils; and he did eat
and drink, and rose up, and went his way: thus Esau despised his birthright.
This story reminds one of the
shrinking birthright of every American citizen.
Daily we become a more
failure driven nation. Failure is being rewarded and is becoming the desirable
norm. Those who ply this trade with the support of the political leaders have
grown into a strong voting block that certain politicians cater to.
Then there is the myth that
has been propagated that immigration is profitable, and a nation building
exercise - - when in reality it requires the citizens to submit themselves to
more governmental control. If in fact immigration is a great thing then why try
to stop anyone at the border and cause them sneak in??
There may come a day when the people will open their eyes and
realize that the political system that is forced upon us has become dictatorial
and has redefined freedom to mean what they tell us that it is.
The bread and pottage enjoyed
by Esau had the effect of making him hate his birthright so also does those who
espouse failure.
