TEMPTATION

Temptation, wow what trip? What would life be without it?

Without temptation in my life, it would be dullsville; all would be blah, blah, blah.

The first temptation in the Bible was when Satan was tempted to rebel against GOD and got the left foot of fellowship and was kicked out of heaven. Not only was he booted out but one third of the angels went with him.

When GOD created man, Satan tried to get even with GOD by tempting man to sin against GOD and mess up GOD’S plan for a heaven on earth. Satan came to Eve and tempted her, and she experienced a titillation she had never known before. She knew what was being suggested was against what GOD had told her to do, but she had no defense for the overwhelming desire that rose up within her and she capitulated and sinned.

Adam suffered the same fate and he messed up big time. There seems to be no limit to the ways you can be tempted, it’s a something for everybody thing.

Temptation" is usually used in a loose sense to describe actions which indicate a lack of self control. A temptation is an act that looks appealing to an individual; and there is a subconscious sense of pride that the person feels because they feel drawn toward an object of temptation.

Sexual temptation is in the fore front as an example of this, a guy sees a woman walk by and the full arsenal of temptation is loosed upon him. He is faced with every thought that pertains to sex. This all happens within a few seconds. This experience feels so good that he is anxious for the next experience. A quote from a sermon at:  http://www.essortment.com/all/temptationchris_rcbl.htm

“Temptations are opportunities that either strengthen us or corrupt us” is a good thing to keep in mind when temptation comes your way. We can be tempted by most anything that pertains to living. Temptation tests our maturity, should you want to know how mature you are in Christ just observe how you handle temptation.

In all of its forms it will titillate you; stir up a desire to do something that is verboten, something you know isn’t the right thing to do. Spending money that you don’t have, gossiping when you know it could hurt someone.

Temptation is like Lon Chaney “The man with a thousand faces,” in everyway and everywhere you turn it is waiting, ready to pounce on you. It waits for your response.

In many cases yielding to temptation is a price more than you want to pay but even knowing this isn’t enough to deter you from yielding.

This Song; personifies temptation

1 Cor. 10:13 No temptation has overtaken you that is unusual for human beings. But God is faithful, and he will not allow you to be tempted beyond your strength. Instead, along with the temptation he will also provide a way out, so that you may be able to endure it.
