FUTURE PLANNING

We are all encouraged to plan for the future.

For some, it may be saving for retirement; or insurance of all types, and don’t forget burial plots.

Some religions say to plant a seed here, and somehow it will be harvested on the other side.

The federal government helps us to plan, by passing laws that encourage savings, some of which have a mandate, and you will be incarcerated if you don’t comply.
In the health arena some plan for long life by regular health checkups, while others neglect and abuse their bodies and die young.

Jesus spoke at length about the present and the future, how to live now and the rewards in the future.

The ant and the grasshopper illustrate the folly of not being prepared for the future.

I find it strange that people who are warned about danger will yet ignore the warning and will perish. There were warnings of impending danger in Bhopal India chemical plant, but they ignored these warnings and it resulted in the deaths of 15,000 people, with another 500,000 injuries with 40,000 disabled. They knew of the danger and yet didn’t accept the obvious.

Jesus spoke of an impending danger; Mat 24:37- 39 Mat 24:37
For just as it was in the days of Noah, so it will be when the Son of Man comes. In those days before the flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage right up to the day when Noah went into the ark. They were unaware of what was happening until the flood came and swept them all away.

That's how it will be when the Son of Man comes.

This warning is there for all to read and yet is ignored by many. His return will set off a series of events culminating in the future choice for all.

You make your choice for heaven or hell now, there is no third option.

For those who have chosen hell or Geheena their future is secure and they will get what they want. Imagine, being cast into a place created for the devil and his angels, no night, no day, just continual misery.

Those who choose heaven will have everlasting joy and happiness. I think of times when I was really happy, this will be my continuous state only more so.

Well I have planned for my eternal future, but I still have to daily make preparations for the on going daily tasks until then.

Now is not the time to faint but to keep going on until Jesus returns.
