THE BEGINNING

My Bible starts with the words “In the beginning GOD created the heavens and the earth. For me that is enough explanation about, the how and why of creation.

There is a lot of more information to be found in the scriptures for those who need it and are willing to seek it out. This factual story has been further validated by personal experience through the new birth experience where I got to know the ALMIGHTY GOD for myself.

I doubt if the so called scientists have had a like experience by scratching in the dirt.

Now what I really wanted to say concerns the creation of man. There two accounts of mans creation the first account says GOD created man, and the second says he formed him, and then breathed the breath of life into him.

These are two aspects of the same event, anyway it seems that Adam wasn’t getting the job done so GOD said; this boy needs some help so I will get someone to help him.

So God looked at the elephant and said, “There are several problems with this, hugging and kissing isn’t in the books with this ‘So Big’ one.” Next He looked at one who was smaller, the porcupine; it didn’t take long to see this wasn’t going to work.

After looking at every creature, God decided to customize a help mate for Adam, and He who does all things well, had a plan.

In order to be sure this helper would be perfect for Adam, God put him to sleep. (GOD was the first anesthesiologist) Then God removed a rib from him, (and Adams DNA) and made a perfect mate for him. When Adam woke and saw Eve he said, “Bone of my bone and flesh of my flesh.” (If he had of went to med school he would have said DNA of my DNA.) Now what is not recorded is this statement he made, "Mama Mia, that's a some a spicy meatball!”

Now to the heart of what I want to say; in your minds eye - - picture what Adam looked like, don’t be bothered by the fact he doesn’t have any clothes on, for after all we are all adults.

Does he look like George Clooney? Or like Schwarzenegger when he was Mr. Universe? (See web)

Maybe he looked more like Groucho Marx or Bob Hope maybe like the king, Elvis.

And what about Eve did she look like Rita Hayworth?

Rita had more clothes on than Eve, but you could get the idea.

Perhaps you see her as Phyllis Diller?

How about five foot two, weighing 250 lbs. looking like Roseanne Barr?

In any case GOD was pleased with His “In his image handiwork” no matter they looked like.

GOD and dogs have this in common; it is not what you look like but how you act that counts.

In Adam’s day there were not any standards to live up to, and you were not put down if you didn’t meet someone else’s ideals. Today, if Eve was around, and a little fat she might be ridiculed, and if Adam looked like Buddy Hackett he would have been laughed out of the garden.

The commandment to love one another includes accepting one another regardless of their looks.

2Corinthians 10:12 We would not dare put ourselves in the same class with or compare ourselves to those (who are pleased with themselves) who recommend themselves. When they measure themselves by themselves and compare themselves to themselves, they show how foolish they are.
