MGM - Leo the Lion

My wife (Hazel) and I visited the Reno MGM grand hotel some thirty years ago and while we were there we decided to have our picture taken with Leo the MGM lion. Leo was a pretty good actor and appeared in many movies including some Tarzan movies.

Leo was older now and didn't like to work too many hours so we made our appointment to be photographed when he was well rested. There have been 5 different lions used as the MGM logo, but for the last 50+ years Leo has been the popular one.

There is a certain awesomeness about a lion, and the scripture used that characterization to describe Satan.

1 Peter 5:8 Stay alert! Watch out for your great enemy, the devil. He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour

 Ephesians 6:12 For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places.

The powers of darkness are the Christian's greatest enemy and they will try to inflict this darkness which results in depression upon every soul touched, especially those who name the name of Christ.

In John 1:4-5 In him there was life, and that life was a light for the people of the world. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not defeated it.

Most Christians will experience this almost overwhelming oppression from our arch enemy at sometime and it will be difficult to comprehend.

One of the best methods of dealing with this is to sing yourself happy. The song "In the name of Jesus" should be sung until the darkness is lifted.
