THE SURE THINg

THE SURE THINg

What everybody wants in life is "The sure thing," but it is one of the most difficult to acquire.

When I go for a check up and the doctor prescribes me a medicine, I wonder if this is going to help me or harm me. I want to be sure that it is a, "Sure thing." In fact I want to have the, "Sure thing" experience in most of what I do.

People want to know which horse will win the race or if a fix is in the making. The same thing is in boxing if a fighter will win or throw the fight and lose. If they can get some inside information they can't lose for they will then have a, "Sure thing."

When Jesus came, he told his listeners about a, "Sure thing." It revolved around believing unto salvation, by believing in HIM and “His Words.”

There only a few things that are a, "Sure thing;" salvation by faith in Christ is the main one. This is an absolute truth, something you can totally rely on.

Another thing that is a, "Sure thing" is if you reject Christ you will be lost and doomed forever. This points out that not everything that is a sure thing is not necessarily desirable. Today many people are neglecting their salvation.

Some are trying not to believe there is a GOD while all the time there is something gnawing away inside them saying. “Seek the Lord while he may be found. Proverbs 14:12, "There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way of death".

Our feelings are not a safe guide. Beware your sure thing doesn't lead you astray. Colossians 3:2 Set your mind on the things that are above, not on the things that are upon the earth.

You are safe and secure and have a "Sure thing" when you lean on "the everlasting arms of Jesus.
