Song: “You gotta walk that lonesome valley, and you gotta walk, walk it by yourself. Nobody else can walk it for you, You gotta walk, walk it by yourself.
Jesus walked this lonesome path and he had to walk it by Himself. Nobody else could walk it for Him; He had to walk, walk it by Himself.”
These words are almost haunting for they portend the end, and a new beginning. A new road to walk and one that we must walk for ourself.
If it wasn’t for the 23 psalm; “Yea though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death I will fear no evil, for THOU art with me, THY rod and staff they comfort me.” - - it would be a fearful trip.
Our understanding of the future has been given to us in word pictures, future events described and related to things we know
1 Corinthians 13:12 Now we see things imperfectly, like puzzling reflections in a mirror, but then we will see everything with perfect clarity.
All that I know now is partial and incomplete, but then I will know everything completely, just as God now knows me completely. For the Christian the trip through the valley is the culmination of a lifetime of expectancy. It is the entering into the joys of the LORD.
The declaration; O death, where is your sting? O grave, where is your victory? Gives us the confidence that all will be well.
Each and everyone must prepare for this trip down that road for themselves, as the song says; nobody can walk it for you.
We are very concerned that our friends, and relations, especially our children make the right decision to serve GOD and prepare for the next world but the decision is theirs.
As parents the time comes when you must commit them unto GOD”S care and uphold them with prayer, then it is their responsibility to make their decision for Christ. It would ease our minds if we could make the decision for them but that isn’t an option.
The biggest mistake a parent can make is to let the child’s decision not to serve GOD ruin their own life and not accept their child's decision.
It is never over until it’s over but in the meantime move on and enjoy your life in the LORD. Your first responsibility is to yourself and to live your life. Not your mates or your children nor your friends.
“This above all: to thine own self be true, and it must follow, as the night the day, Thou canst not then be false to any man. Farewell, my blessing season this in thee!” Shakespeare quote
